View Full Version : Possibly tampered with Cube??

I got this cube from someone's desk at work and decided followed the steps on this site to get to this point ... (see pics).

Is it possible that this cube was taken apart and clipped back together wrong? You can see that there are 2 problems.

1) The blue/red and blue/orange edge pieces are in the wrong positions. Unless I'm reading incorrectly, the solution doesn't show how to fix that.

2) The final corner piece is oriented wrong.

Thanks for any suggestions.

yes, this is an impossible position for a normal Rubik's cube! you can never have only ONE unsolved corner based on the rules of the cube, and even if the corner was correct the two edges would also be in an impossible position as well. pop 'em off, replace them correctly and try again. of course, you could always buy a new rubik's cube (http://www.chessandpoker.com/shopping-center.html) :)

Thanks. That might explain why I spent nearly an hour trying step number 4 over and over and could never get all the corners set. I retruned it to work and the owner did say "oh yeah, Noah may have taken a couple off. He said that's how he finishes the cube".

Anyway, thanks for the response!!!
