Hi

I just played the online version Tic Tac Toe...and I have won.

"In the following strategy guide, I will detail a tic tac toe strategy for both Player X and Player O that will allow them to either Win the game or force a Draw, but never lose it, with all possible plays detailed."

How do I make a good strategy with n x n grid? Any suggestion?

Hi gstar welcome to the forums! :)

I'm not sure I'm following your question. In the example you provided, the game is already over with Player X winning on the bottom row. for our strategy guide to work, just follow it from the beginning of the game for either player and it will show you the best move at each juncture.

for larger grids, the same basic premise would lead to an optimal strategy. you need to put your opponent into a situation where they have to block two threatened wins at the same time (which is what our guide accomplishes for the 3x3 grid) which is impossible for them to do. I've never taken the time to solve the bigger grids, but based on the this idea it should be fairly straightforward to solve...in theory anyway!
