People may feel potential market for chess is small, but check this out:

What is the size of the casual games industry?
More than 200 million people worldwide play casual games via the Internet. In 2007, the world wide connected casual games industry had revenues in excess of $2.25 billion on mobile, PC, Mac and Xbox LIVE Arcade platforms.

it's huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge. thankfully :) just look at a site like Pogo.com with hundreds of thousands of people on at any given time playing very simple games that are quick and fun to play and unbelievably addictive. hmmmm I think I'm going to head over there to whip up on the blitz Chess rooms tonight actually :whip: wooooooooot

While there, maybe you can get them to do a chess-poker hybrid tournament :-)

By the way, on this note, if boardgames are over $800 million, and electronic casual gaming is over $2.2 million, this means the entire table and casual game business is over $3 billion a year in revenues. This is HUGE. Figure in a total number of players exceeding half a billion and someone can end giving TV a BIG wake up call.

Well, just my 2 cents.
