Default Domino HEATED GAME-ENDER - Need help please

Domino Rules Question
...

My brother just called and asked this question following a "heated" game-ender.

I believe my brother plays regular Draw Domino.

They play that when a player is blocked he has to draw from the boneyard until he gets a playable tile or the boneyard is empty.

The contention was over a play my brother did that ended in a blocked game.

He played the last tile of a suit with only that suit remaining to play upon (ie game was blocked, no one had a tile to play as they were already played). My brother expected his opponent to empty the boneyard.

His opponent countered by saying the game was over because it was blocked.

What is the general concensus on this?

A player intentionally blocks the game in such a manner. Does the game end there or is the opponent forced to empty the boneyard first?

I appreciate your help.

This will help bring WORLD-PEACE to rural Tennessee.

Thanks,

Bob yeahoo777-online@yahoo.com

PS I just found this in the rules of Double Draw Domino. Would this also answer my question for regular Draw Dominoes?

Any player can call "blocked game" when they notice it. All play immediately stops and the hands are scored. This convention keeps the scores from getting larger than they would be otherwise. If the game was blocked and nobody noticed this, then players would continue to draw tiles until the boneyard was empty.

haha, this post cracked me up. you guys play games like we do.......to the death

I know dominoes can be frustrating at times ......but this site will probably help you out any time you have questions about the rules of any dominoes games:

http://www.pagat.com/tile/wdom/

and for All-Fives dominoes, which could be the game they're playing:

http://www.pagat.com/tile/wdom/all_fives.html
(Hey, they have a link to our dominoes page at the bottom, sweet )

I'm pretty sure the game ends and is scored when that happens in most if not all draw dominoes games, but I'll let Pagat.com be the decider. Good luck, whichever side of the argument you're on.
